‘Madge’, my Great Grandmother, is still alive today. She still tells me stories of when she was my age and drawn into helping create and run the telephone networks for the ‘Big Wigs’ as she called them. She found it very hard being part of the ATS and often tells me to enjoy my young life as she missed out on hers because of the war. She remembers being away from her family, and the Air raids and being in Bristol when it was bombed. She played her part to give me what I have today.
